The nearest good hospital is The Rajagiri Victor Hospital (previously known as Apollo Victor Hospital) at Margao (Station Road, Malbhat, Margao, Goa 403601. Phone: +918326728888. Website: www.rajagirivictorhospital.com). Any taxi available right outside the gate of Luisa by the Sea will be able to take you there. It is a 30-minute drive North of the Villa.

Another reputed hospital is Manipal Hospital at Donna Paula (Dr E Borges Rd, Dona Paula, Panjim, Goa 403004 Phone: +918888702222 Website: https://goa.manipalhospitals.com). This is a 90-minute drive from the Villa, and a 60-minute drive from the Rajagiri Victor Hospital, going further North.

Three pharmacies are available within a 5-minute walking radius from the Luisa main gate:

  • K4

  • Watsons

  • D’Mello’s

Most medicines in India are given by pharmacies without insisting on a doctor’s prescription, so if you would know what to prescribe for common ailments you could stock up on some medicines for emergencies, or bring your GP’s recommendations with you.

House rules

Please follow the rules below, especially the rules of the Owners’ Association, otherwise, we may be constrained to cancel your booking and ask you to leave, without any refund on the unutilized portion of your holiday.

  1. Smoking inside the villa is not allowed. Guests may smoke in the garden or on the terrace.

  2. Pets are strictly not allowed. There are some stray dogs in the complex, on the beach, and generally all over India, since culling them is against the law. If you encourage them, they will follow you home. The Owners' Association rules do not permit bringing outside strays into the complex. Also, please do not encourage or invite strays into the villa. Especially, DO NOT FEED THE STRAYS. The Residents' Association levies fines for that, and we will ask you to pay any fines imposed.

  3. The villa is not certified safe for infants, children or the elderly.

  4. The river flows at the edge of the garden and can be deep at high tide. Therefore, infants and children must be supervised at all times so that they do not enter the river accidentally or on purpose.

  5. The garden and paths can be uneven in places, and the elderly must take care.

  6. The villa has a couple of steps at the entry porch, so the less mobile may have to factor this in.

  7. The shared resident swimming pools in the complex do not have a lifeguard in attendance. Please ensure children and non-swimmers are supervised at all times.

  8. Noise and disturbance are strictly not allowed by the Owners' Association. Parties and large gatherings are not allowed. Exercise extreme care about making noises or the use of musical instruments, radios, televisions and amplifiers etc that may disturb others.

  9. Do not hold any gatherings or events inside the villa or the open areas like the gardens, pathways, pools etc. This includes, but is not limited to, meditation and yoga groups, classes, camps, discourses or teachings or any type of community or personal gathering including marriage or birthday parties, exhibitions, sales, political or religious gatherings including rallies, meditation, prayers, satsang, chanting etc. You may not place any furniture or objects of any kind in any area including lawns, pathways, lobbies etc.

  10. Pool use regulations: If you use one of the pools, please do obey the rules of the complex. Some of these are:
    i.    Wear proper swimsuits. Regular clothes or nudity is strictly prohibited.
    ii.    While in the pool or deck area, do not drink (even soft drinks or beverages), or smoke, make noise etc. Glasses or bottles are not permitted in or around the pool.
    iii.    Maintain pool hygiene

    • Shower before entering the pool at the showers located next to the pool.

    • Do not enter the pool with sun creams and lotions applied on your body.

    • Do not enter the pool if you have open wounds, sores or skin infections.

    • Do not bring pets to the pool or deck area.

iv.    Do not shout, jump, play water games, or cause disturbance.
v.    The pool timings are 9am to 7pm. Do not use the pool outside these hours.
vi.   Guests who are not staying in the villa with you as part of your booked party are not allowed to use the pool.​

Note: During the monsoon season – June to September – the sea can get a bit rough. While you can splash about a bit at the edge of the water, swimming in the water is not recommended at this time. Water sports are also limited during monsoons. Also, the beach shacks are all taken down, as it is the “off-season”.

For your safety, a safety card is available at the villa, giving emergency numbers, the location of the fire extinguisher, gas shut-off valve, electric mains switch, emergency exit instructions and other important information.
